Historical sketch of the trees and grounds of the University of Virginia. [manuscript], ca.1961.

This work briefly outlines the "changes which took place on the grounds from 1817 to the present, placing special emphasis on the individual superintendents of Buildings and Grounds and the work they accomplished." The text also includes references to trees of special interest such as the McGuffey Ash, the Monroe Walnut, and the Pratt Ginkgos. Typed manuscript with editorial corrections, authored by Edwin M. Betts, edited and prefaced by Sylvester H. O'Grince, with a foreward by Ivey F. Lewis.
