Larcom mentions the Guilford Institute in Connecticut, the Wheaton Seminary in Norton, Massachusetts, and several acquaintances including John Greenleaf Whittier, Mary Abigail Dodge (Gail Hamilton), and Maria Mitchell. She adds that she has left Ward's copy of Faber's Poems with Whittier to read.
