The collection includes letters, 1831 February 9 and 1835 June 29, from Stevenson to unidentified recipients. In the first letter Stevenson reports on an unspecified bill before the house in which his correspondent in interested. The second letter concern's Stevenson's resignation as Speaker of the House, his ill health, his stalled nomination as minister to Great Britain, and an article his correspondent has written on the situation. He refers to most men involved in the situation by initial but does mention Mr. Webster and [Major William B.?] Lewis.
