Papers of Henry William Herbert [manuscript], 1854-1857.

Herbert's letters discuss research for a book on horses and horsemanship, a new edition of "Field Sports," and research on Mary, Queen of Scots. He also discusses sending a dog to a trainer and hiring a person to copy his new novel. A clipped obituary is included with one letter. A magazine photograph of Edwin Booth is on the back of one letter. The firm of J. & H.G. Langley is the only identified correspondent.
