Letters of Adolph Morbio [manuscript], 1917-1919.

The collection contains a carbon letterbook kept by Morbio while stationed at the Second Engineer Officer Training Camp, Vancouver Barracks, Washington, Sept. 6, 1917-Nov. 27, 1917, and carbon copies of letters, 1917-1919, describing his service in France. Letters, chiefly to family and friends, from Vancouver Barracks describe the rigorous training schedule; studies; a mock battle; and off-duty entertainment in Portland. Letters from France describe his tour of duty supervising the construction of electrical installations at Tours. Other topics of interest include the Intermediate Salvage Depot at St. Pierre des Corps; sightseeing in France; humorous poems about serving in the rear; and family news.
