Hench photographed scenes of interest at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville and in Albemarle County, Va., from flags at half staff for the death of Warren Harding, 1923, to a view of an octagonal church (Zion Baptist), North Garden, Va., in 1971. Included are views of construction at the University of Virginia, World War II training classes, and old homes later remodeled or razed.
