Survey book of William Croghan [manuscript] , 1787-1794.

This survey book contains plats of Croghan's various lands, then located in Virginia now located in Kentucky. The lands, set apart for soldiers "in consequence of military service performed" in the revolutionary war, are situated along the Cumberland, Tennessee, Red, Barren, Green, and Ohio rivers. Rendered in ink and watercolor and depicting rivers and forestation, the plats and surveys were drawn by: Richard C. Anderson, James Boyde, George R. Clark, Charles de Krafft, William Hickman, John Obannon,William Roberts, Edmund Rogers, and Robert Todd.

Richard Clough Anderson was born on January 12, 1750 at Goldmine, Hanover County, Virgina, to Robert Anderson, the son of a Scottish immigrant, and Elizabeth Clough.
