Papers of the Yardley family [manuscript], 1814-1906.

Correspondence, legal papers, announcements, invitations, photographs, composition books, pamphlets, and advertisements. The collection consists chiefly of Yardley family correspondence. Of interest are letters, 1904-1906, from Claude Yardley, Charlottesville, to his family briefly mentioning his work as a Michie Company employee and Red- Land Club membership. Also included are a copy of an adoption agreement, 1860 February 25, between Joseph B. and Harriet A. Yardley and Ellen A. Cobb for Clara E. Cobb; a deed, 1814 March 26, giving land in Parkersfield, N.H. to Samuel Bryant; documents, 1842-1846, appointing John [Yeardley] to the New Hampshire militia; a letter from an unidentified correspondent visiting the Chicago World's Fair; and several unidentified photographs.
