Papers concerning an exhibit commemorating the bicentennial of the birth of Thomas Jefferson [manuscript], 1943, 1990.

Exhibit held at the Library of Congress, National Gallery of Art, and the National Archives commemorated the bicentennial of the birth of Thomas Jefferson. The collection contains copies of press releases, photographs, item descriptions, documents and art in the exhibit compiled by print collector Herman H. Diers and bought by Robert Livingston Bailey of Charlottesville, Va. Included is a drawing of Jefferson drawn for Diers by Russell Parker. With these are photographs of a purported Thomas Jefferson watch owned by Bailey and an article regarding it, and a genealogy of the Bailey family of Albemarle County and the related Chowning/Chewning family.
