Letters to his wife, Sarah [manuscript], 1862 May-December.

Eight letters discuss camp life, picket duty and news from home. He mentions operations against Stonewall Jackson's forces during the Valley campaign, General Foster's expedition to Blackwater Bridge, the successful capture and burning of a Confederate camp, and the well trained Confederate soldiers. With these is a letter, 1862 June 27, "Charley" to "Nellie" about the fighting going on at Mechanicsville with a postscript about participation in the remainder of the Seven Days battles.
