Papers of Mary Elizabeth Barr Wall [manuscript], 1852-1912 (bulk 1852-1869).

The papers consist chiefly of letters sent to Mrs. Wall before her marriage by relatives and friends. Most were written during the Civil War and discuss civilian and routine military life. Of interest are letters from a prisoner at Ft. Delaware, Delaware, and a discussion of Negro Union troops. The collection also contains some receipts, a Civil War pass, and attendance reports of medical student Harry Wall at the University of Virginia.
