Letters of Lucius M. Sargent [manuscript], 1834-1851.

In a letter, 1851 January 21, Boston, to Henry Adolphus Miles, Sargent thanks Miles for the original manuscript of a sermon by Andrew Le Mercier, discusses Le Mercier's background and friends, especially Thomas Cushing, and mentions his interest in the Faneuil family, especially Peter and Andrew, and his plans to write an account of that family; in another letter, 1834 April 14, Boston, to Zachariah Allen, Providence, Rhode Island, Sargent thanks Allen for sending a copy of his "Sketches of Europe," praises the work, and discusses how it differs from similar reports and sketches appearing in the press.
