Collection includes page proofs of "Order my firing squad for the afternoon," manuscript copy of chapters 5-8 of the book, combat records for several World War I aviators, a list of Longstreet's books, and the introduction to "Nell Kimball; her life as an American madam, by herself." Also include correspondence concerning Bruccoli's attempts to verify Windstaff's existence, the authenticity of the memoirs, and the decision of Vernon Sternberg of the Southern Illinois University Press not to publish the book. Longstreet, in several letters to Bruccoli discusses John O'Hara, Gore Vidal, and his own work with Faulkner on the screen adaptation of "Stallion road."
