Papers of Charlton Gilmore Holland [manuscript], 1937-1958.

The collection consists of professional and personal correspondence of Holland, photographs, German road maps, clippings from German papers and some miscellaneous printed material, chiefly from his German trip. Holland's letters home from Germany and Austria, 1937, describe his bicycle tour through Germany, Freiburg in Breisgau, the Nuremberg Rally, a speech by Alfred Rosenberg, Vienna, and his medical studies at the University of Vienna. Letters from the 1950s discuss Holland's archaeological studies of Virginia Indian ceramics and similar work by colleagues in Ecuador.
