In a letter, 1937 February 26, J. H. Gipson, Caldwell, Idaho, writes to Col. N. N. Wallack, Washington, D. C., enclosing an autographed copy of Vardis Fisher's pamphlet "Tours in Eastern Idaho" and relating Fisher's objections to signing because "his manuscript was butchered by the Washington office." In correspondence, 1941 March 31-April 4, Fisher and Harry Mielke, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, discuss Fisher's reluctance to autograph the latter's copy of "In tragic life." Collection also contains a Houghton-Mifflin press release for "Toilers in the hills."
