This collection contains three newspaper clippings from 1887 relating to the events of the Battle of Bennington and the efforts to commemorate the battle with the construction of the Bennington Monument. Three other articles cover the participation of Massachusetts soldiers in the battle, the proposal of August 16th as an annual holiday honoring the anniversary of the battle, and the debate over the condition of the monument in 1931.
