List compiled following the Earl of Essex's failed rebellion against Elizabeth I. Names include Essex and 72 other people imprisoned at the time of the plot under the names of their prisons ("In the Towere," "In Newe Gaite," "In the Gard House," "In the Marshallseas," "In the Flete," "In the Counter in Wodstret," "In the Counter in the Poultrie," and "In Ludgaite Feloninge"). At end of list: "The Lorde of Sussiex in hould at Ser John Stannope's. The Lorde of Bedford in houlld at Alldermane Holidaie's. Captine Sallesberie slaine in Essiexe house."

Frederick of Mömpelgard (d. 1608) became the Duke of Württemberg in 1593. Robert, Earl of Essex (1586-1601) was a favorite of Elizabeth I, Queen of England, and occupied a variety of military posts.
