Apologizes for a previous letter with which "y[ou]r La[dyshi]p found y[ou]r self greeued w[i]th," explaining that "amongst the infinite l[ett]res w[hi]ch are offred to me to signe I might signe some such ere I know whatt yt was."

Frederick of Mömpelgard (d. 1608) became the Duke of Württemberg in 1593. Robert, Earl of Essex (1586-1601) was a favorite of Elizabeth I, Queen of England, and occupied a variety of military posts.
