Country doctor's ledger records charges for home and office visits and medicine, and payments in cash, produce and labor. Patients include African-Americans and residents of the Pocohontas, W. Va., County Home. The back of the volume contains accounts of the settlement of the estate of D.L. Smith, 1928-1933, and financial accounts of John W.R. Smith and Bessie O. Smith, 1944-1958. Other loose papers concern the settlement of the estate of Robert E.L. Marshall, with executors Thomas F. Norris and John W.R. Smith and the settlement of the estate of Mrs. Willie Minor Smith, with executors John W.R. Smith and Lemuel R. Smith.
