This congregation can trace its roots to 1953, when a small number of Baptists in southeastern Charlotte met to gauge the level of interest in establishing a new church in their part of town. Because southeastern Charlotte was growing rapidly in the 1950s, it quickly became apparent that there was a great deal of interest in forming a new congregation.
