Kirtley Fletcher Mather Papers, 1923-1973.

This collection has images of landscapes and scenery from the Aleutian Range, Alaska Peninsula, Katmai National Park, including the Katmai National Monument, and the Valle of Ten Thousand Smokes. In addition, there are photographs of street scenes and dwellings in Fairbanks and Kanatak, Alaska, birds-eye-views of Battle Lake on the Alaska Peninsula and Columbia and Serpent Tongue glaciers. People identified in this collection are of K.F. Mather, Ginny Hill Wood and R.H. Sargent. The manuscript portion of the Mather Papers contains biographical information, essays by Mather, a copy of the original transcript Mather wrote for his U.S.G.S report published in 1925 and a copy of a reprinted article of Mather's 1951 address at the second Alaskan Science Conference at establishing the Alaska Division for the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
