Correspondence from Morley Roberts, 1933-1942.

Morley Roberts's letters to Storm Jameson document a close friendship between them, and range over a variety of topics, including personal concerns of all kinds; and the writing and publication of his books Bio-Politics (1938) and The Behaviour of Nations (1941). In May 1939 he states his intention that Jameson should be his literary executor. Roberts often refers to his stepdaughter Naomi Hamlyn, including in relation to her final illness, and, following Naomi's death in November 1941, he asks Jameson, by letter and telegram, to speak about Naomi at the crematorium. A typescript of a poem is included (Death; 6 December 1941). In December 1941 and in 1942 Roberts refers to the book he is writing about Naomi, and in his last letter, a few days before his death, he tells Jameson that he has sent her the manuscript (see Ms. Coll. 726, Box 6).
