Ford (16 leaves) describes the Kains's activities following the earthquake of April 18, 1906; letter, 27 December 1901, William to Brother (1 leaf) informing him of the denial of the appeal to the bishop; letter, 5 December 1912, San Francisco, A. Kains to Aunt Anna (1 leaf, folded); William Maxwell Reilly appointment, 4 June 1895, San Francisco, signed by William Ford Nichols, Bishop, Diocese of California (1 leaf, folded); issues of St. Paul's Parish Paper for September 1902, November 1902, and April 1909; three newspaper clippings, two dealing with the possible ouster of Reilly by his bishop for mismanagement of funds (1901), the other reporting the appointment of Archibald C. William Maxwell Reilly and two brothers, Theophilus and Edward, were born in County Cavan, Ireland. William Maxwell served as rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in San Francisco 1895-1909. Archibald Kains was son-in-law of Fanny Reilly, daughter of Edward M. Reilly. Kains was manager of the Canadian Bank of Commerce in San Francisco until he became examiner of clearing house banks, a position he held in San Francisco 1908-1914.
