Albert H. Gallatin letters, 1864.

The collection consists of six photocopied letters from the collections of the New York Historical Society. The letters were written by Gallatin to his brother, Fred Gallatin, his father, A. R. Gallatin, his mother, M. L. S. Gallatin, his grandfather, H. G. Stevens, and his grandmother, E. L. R. Stevens, while he was employed as a member of the Norwich University faculty in Norwich, VT.

Albert Gallatin, a graduate of New York University and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New York City, joined the Norwich University faculty in August of 1863 as professor of chemistry, geology and mineralogy.
