Collection of poems issued by the Poem of the Month Club. 1970-1972.

Collection of printed poems on individual sheets signed by their authors. Included here are the first and second folios issued by the club with poems by: (First Folio) Stevie Smith, Philip Larkin, C. Day Lewis, Roy Fuller, Stephen Spender, Robert Graves, Anthony Thwaite, John Fuller, Elizabeth Jennings, Geaorge Barker, Norman MacCaig, and Peter Porter; (Second Folio) W.H. Auden, Douglas Dunn, D.J. Enright, John Lehman, Alan Brownjohn, Thom Gunn, Glyn Hughes, John Betjeman, Seamus Heaney, Alan Ross, Ian Hamilton, and Gavin Ewart. There are also poems by Hugo Williams, Julian Symons, Ruthven Todd (dated January 1972), and Brother Antonius (William Everson) from a later folio. The collection also includes documentation (4 ff.) relating to Ruthven Todd's membership of the club.

Ruthven Todd was born in Edinburgh, and educated at Fettes College and the Edinburgh School of Art. After graduating he held a few odd jobs, while concentrating on painting, and was associated with the Surrealist movement.. He later worked as a copywriter and journalist, and made a name for himself as a poet, novelist, and short-story writer.
