Tapes and transcripts of interviews with Cuningham conducted by Laurie K. Todd, July 12 and September 18, 1983. Mrs. Cuningham discusses her childhood in Fayetteville, New York; her studies in home economics at Albany Teacher's College; experiences as a Home Demonstration agent in Otsego County, including obtaining appropriations from the Board of Supervisors, relationships with Farm Bureau and Otsego County community organizations, and communication with the School of Home Economics at Cornell; conducting sewing and cooking classes; courtship and marriage to Robert V. Call; the development of My-T-Fine Acres, the Calls' farm in Batavia; the establishment of the Genesee County Home Bureau and Farm Center; and the separation of Home Bureau from Cooperative Extension. She also describes her farm enterprises (which she kept separate from other farm income), including raising turkeys, collies, and gladiolus; and the connection between kinship and business in family farming.
