Louis-Pierre-Edouard Bignon letters, 1803-1813.

First letter, with heading "Cassel le 11 vendemiaire an XI," requests payment for sums owed to General Beurnouville and Bignon. Second letter, headed "Craeovie le 22 avril 1813," discusses problems with certain regiments of the French army. Decisions being made by the Conseil de guerre are not being communicated to officers such as M. le Gl. Frimont and Prince Poinatourtin [?]; provisions are inadequate; and the incorporation of the Lithuanian Guard into the first regiment of lancers has caused consternation among the troops. Bignon also outlines plans for the Prince's forces to retreat from the Polish territory they now occupy. Metternich and M. de la Narbonne are mentioned.
