Subjects include his work as Master of the National Grange, 1923-1941; his participation in the International Institute of Agriculture Conference, 1926; his campaign as the Republican candidate for U.S. Senator from Ohio, 1932; his recommendation for the post of Secretary of Agriculture, 1932; his opposition to many New Deal programs; the Farm Bureau-Grange controversy, 1939; his work on several federal agricultural commissions; and early Grange history.
