Maurice C. Bond oral histories, 1982.

Dr. Bond's personal history and observations of people and events that have shaped New York agriculture: growing up in Thetford, Vermont, including his childhood on a dairy and maple farm and attendance at Thetford Academy; college experiences; professional experiences as an Emergency Demonstration agent for the University of Vermont during World War I, as a teacher at Morrisville, as a secretary for the Holstein-Friesian Association, and as a professor and administrator at the New York State College of Agriculture at Cornell, including criteria he used to allocate funds for the Cooperative Extension; observations of contributions made by the Department of Agricultural Economics to agricultural cooperatives and the study of land use, coordination between state, regional, and federal branches of Extension, reasons for and effects of separating the New York Cooperative Extension from the Farm and Home Bureaus, the relationship between agriculture, 4-H, and home economics in Extension, and the relationship between the New York State College of Agriculture and the Grange League Federation (Agway). Included are Bond's impressions of George F. Warren, William I. Myers, Leland Spencer, Frank Pearson, Lloyd R. Simons, Dean Worcester, Carl E. Ladd, Harry March, H.E. Babcock, Roy Park, Maurice C. Burritt, Paul V. Kepner, and Arthur H. Peterson.

Founded in Syracuse, N.Y. in 1921 as a business run by farmers for their benefit. A. Leal Bibbins built the Syracuse seeds division into one of the largest seed businesses in the country.
