Letter, 24 June 1864.

The collection contains an unsigned letter from Pvt. Gustin Flint addressed to Cousin Alonzo and Marilla King, Newville, DeKalb County, Indiana. The letter was written 24 June, during the opening of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. The envelope is included along with a photocopy of a portion of another letter written by Flint to the Kings.

Gustin Flint was a resident of Newville, in DeKalb County, Indiana. He enlisted in the army on 7 March 1864 and was mustered into the 129th Indiana Infantry Regiment. He reached Tennessee at the end of April and participated in the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain in June 1864. Flint was mustered out on 29 August 1865 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
