Genealogy of the Lynch family giving background in Ireland and South Carolina; a portion of this volume consists of excerpts copied or detached from published works. Transcriptions include excerpt from James Hardiman's work, The History of the Town and Country of the Town of Galway (first published 1820); an essay published by the Galway Archaeological and Historical Society, "An Old Lynch Manuscript"; and two letters, Oct. 1946 and Oct. 1947, from Alexander S. Salley, Jr. (typed on S.C. Historical Commission letterhead illustrated with a view of the World War Memorial Building) to Dr. Joseph E. Fields of Joliet, Ill., enclosing research notes on the Lynch family in S.C. compiled by Salley. Includes undated genealogical chart compiled by Martin J. Blake, "Tabular pedigree of some members of the Lynch family of Galway from 1274 to 1508," presumably detached form one of Blake's publications.
