This collection consists of the subject files from the office of the Mayor of Akron, Ohio during the administration of Roy L. Ray (1980-1983). Much of Ray's energies were focused on maintaining the city's finances during the recession of the early 1980s. Of note are the files relating to the economic development of the City of Akron; negotiations with the various city unions; the development of the Keep Akron Working, Incorporated; and Ray's activities in county, regional and national governmental organizations.
