Consist of materials relating to the administration of on-the-job training and apprenticeship programs. Documents generally consist of proposals, memoranda, contracts, curricula, and reports concerning on-the-job training projects of Ansonia Manufacturing Company and the United Steelworkers of America, Fairfield County Area Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Committees and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America; Pratt and Whitney Inc. and the United Automobile Workers; Mattatuck Manufacturing Company and the United Automobile Workers; Shelton Wire Novelty Company and the United Steelworkers; American Federation of Government Employees; Idaho Apprenticeship Advisory Committee apprenticeship program; Central Kentucky Bricklayers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Council; Detroit, Saginaw Valley and Midland Carpenters programs; St. Louis Carpenters, Painters and Retail Clerks Projects; Newark Paint Trade Joint Committee; Utica Auto Mechanics; New York Bakery and Confectionery Workers Apprenticeship Program; Tri-State Carpenters Program; Lake County Youth Project; Washington Action for Youth; Charleston Bricklayers Program; and Youth Incentive Program of Milwaukee Urban League. Additionally, include correspondence, memoranda, and position papers exchanged between Neil McArthur (director, Youth Employment Program) and staff members of various unions, the American Federation of Labor's Department of Community Services Activities, the U.S. Bureau of Employment Security, the Colorado Central Labor Council, and the U.S. Office of Manpower, Automation and Training, regarding the funding, organizing and conduct of apprenticeship programs, mental health centers, and youth training projects under the Manpower, Training and Development Act.
