Bayard Taylor papers, 1837-1878.

Correspondence, journals, notebooks, scrapbooks, manuscripts, diaries, clippings, articles, sketches, and autobiographical notes pertaining to Taylor's life as a writer and traveler in North Africa, Scandinavia, Europe, and the Middle East. Also, a watercolor landscape by Taylor acquired by Dr. Francis Harvey Green and given to William F. Rochow in 1950, with "Gems of Thought," a card with excerpts from Taylor's writings selected by Green.
