Andrew Amundsen journal [1873] [1970]

Transcription of Andrew Amundsen journal originally written from March 26 to May 7, 1873. Author describes his trip from the Lehi, Utah, area in company with his fellow missionaries, to Moenkopi, Arizona, where the group farmed, lived among the Indians, learned their language, and taught them about the Mormon Church. Amundsen also records his impressions of the Navajos, Hopi, and other Indians he meets, as well as providing descriptions of various sites the group explored.
