Dennis Wesley was an author and illustrator of children's books; he was best known for his drawings of horses, but began working in the art departments of Boston newspapers and department stores. He wrote six children's books (self-illustrated), but is best known for his work illustrating Marguerite Henry's novels, including the 1949 Newbery Medal winner, "King of the Wind."
