Foster Dunwiddie papers, 1882-1973.

The collection comprises plans, slides, prints, bids, papers and other materials including a blueline of the Washburn Flour Mill engine and boiler plant (1894); elevations and layouts of Coffey Hall,on the University of Minnesota St. Paul Campus, elevations and plans of the Jackson Street Shops in St. Paul (James Brodie, et al., 1882-1953); Metropolitan Stadium plans and details; Mill Place Park bluelines (Arvid Elness Architects); Minneapolis Mill Co. (Byllesby Engineering, 1926); Washburn Crosby Co. (Minneapolis, 1905-21); Washburn Crosby Milling Co. (Barnett & Record, Minneapolis, 1902-28); photos of the Pillsbury "A" Mill and the Washburn-Crosby Milling Complex (Minneapolis); job files for Metropolitan Stadium (1963-73) and a tabernacle (1963-67). The papers include inventories of class papers, organized by subjects including papers on various areas around Minneapolis and St. Paul, historic architects, the Jackson Street Shops, local materials industries such as, cast iron manufacturers, brick, clay and tile works, papers on Minnesota county courthouses, University of Minnesota buildings on both Twin Cities campuses, and the Minneapolis warehouse district and milling districts. The papers also include lecture notes, along with architectural plans and specifications, photographs and correspondence.

Foster W. Dunwiddie taught in the University of Minnesota School of Architecture. Some of his projects include documentation for the Historic American Buildings Survey reports, done by his students and organized and coordinated by Dunwiddie.
