The collection comprises the professional and personal papers of Alexander and Irene Granovsky, and by their son Robert Granovsky. Included are diplomas, course outlines, research notes and publications especially in entomology and on plant diseases (insect vector?). Also included are records of volunteer activities with the Republican Party, displaced persons activities files, and miscellaneous notes and correspondence relating to the Ukraine, including notes for a book on the Ukraine.

Alexander A. Granovsky (1887-1976) was born in Berezhtsi, Ukraine, and came to the United States in 1913. He was educated at Colorado State Agricultural College and the University of Wisconsin and taught entymology at the universities of Wisconsin and Minnesota. He became a leader in the Ukrainian American community locally and nationally, and became president of the Organization for Rebirth of Ukraine.
