George J. Schroepfer papers, 1912-1971.

The collection includes contract drawings and specifications for more than 100 water and sewage treatment plants throughout the U.S., plus articles, reports and contract documents. There are also copies of reports written by Schroepfer and minutes of Mpls-St. Paul Sanitary District meetings (1940-42).

Schroepfer was born in St. Paul MN, and received a B.S. in civil engineering in 1928, took an M.S. in 1930, and a professional civil engineering degree in 1932, all from the University of Minnesota. He began working for the Mpls-St. Paul Sanitary District in 1933 as an asst. chief engineer, responsible for the design and construction of new facilities, then became chief engineer and Supt. of the district in 1938.
