Anatomist and anthropologist, 1899-1991. After receiving a bachelor's degree from Mt. Holyoke College in 1920, Trotter came to Washington University where she completed a master's degree in Anatomy in 1921 and a doctorate in Anatomy in 1924. Trotter served on the faculty in the department of Anatomy of the Washington University School of Medicine from 1922 until her retirement as professor emerita and lecturer in 1967, though she continued her research and writing until 1984.
