Judge Pratter was born in 1949, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1975; she joined Duane Morris as an associate in 1975 and became a partner in 1983. Her practice focused on litigation. In 2003, President Bush nominated Platter to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She was sworn in on June 18, 2004.
