Stating that he has nothing to forgive and that he was not angry with her. Noting that "we all have two natures," one which "we strive to keep draped," and which is "delicate as the wings of a butterfly." Alluding to his own awkwardness and previous embarrassments and striving to put her at ease. Wishing that he could visit her in Philadelphia, and stating that he likes her "quite as much -- well, at least nearly as much as you say that you wish."
