The collection consists of two notebook-organized files containing, predominantly, correspondence between Carole Butcher of Lancaster, England and James W. Brown, a Georgia death row inmate executed in 2003; and between Mrs. Butcher and Norman R. Cleary, an Oklahoma death row inmate executed in 2004. There are also materials from other correspondents with Mrs. Butcher, and materials and documents concerning Brown and Cleary's imprisonment, including visitation request forms and travel brochures.
