The collection contains a memorandum for President Roosevelt regarding the Russian proposal for an international air force, the United States opposition to an international police force, and possible disagreement with Prime Minister Churchill on the matter, 1944 September 6. There is also a memorandum listing the topics to be discussed with President Roosevelt concerning the World Security Organization including voting in the Security Council, the Associated Nations in Latin America, location in Switzerland, international trusteeships, a court statute, and the termination of the League of Nations,1944 November 15, signed by Stettinius. There is also a copy of a statement on the crisis in Palestine urging the establishment of an international police force and the lifting of an embargo on arms shipments [January 1948] together with a forwarding letter from Clark M. Eichelberger of the American Association for the United Nations to Stettinius and a reply from Stettinius's assistant Fred T. Liniger regretting that Stettinius is away and cannot help with the matter.
