George Irving Christie was born in Winchester, Dundas County, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) in Guelph in 1902 before migrating to the United States for post-graduate training. H.C. Nixon was born in 1886 in Merrellton, Calhoun Co., Ala., and died in 1967.
