George Irving Christie was born in Winchester, Dundas County, Ontario, Canada. He graduated from the Ontario Agricultural College (OAC) in Guelph in 1902 before migrating to the United States for post-graduate training. Charles Hoyt Watson served as the third president of Seattle Pacific College (now Seattle Pacific University). He was born in Kansas on December 12, 1888.
