This series comprises published annual reports for the Immanuel Deaconess Institute (IDI), in which the motherhouse and training school were included. There are bound and unbound copies that date from 1891-1944. Printed in Rock Island, Illinois, at the Augustana Book Concern, this report included lists of board members and committee members; lists of deaconesses; places of service; a historical sketch; summary from the annual meeting; director's report; financial reports, the hospital's annual report, constitutions for the institute, deaconess auxiliary, and deaconess association; the articles of incorporation for the IDI; principles of deaconess work; course listings; and conditions by which deaconess students were received. Annual reports for years after 1944 are found as a monthly issue of the IDI's publication The Deaconess Messenger. This series also includes a typewritten translation of the first annual report from the Evangelical Immanuel Association for Works of Mercy delivered in 1890. Care should be taken to minimize the handling of individual reports as the pages are very brittle. This advice applies to those reports in bound volumes as well.
