Papers (n.d.) of Carlo Tresca (1879-1943) consist of an autobiography. Tresca, a Socialist and anti-fascist, was born in Salmona, A'Quila, Italy. He was active in the socialist workers' movement in Italy, and in 1904 came to the United States to avoid a prison sentence. He was editor of Il Proletorio, Le pleke, L'Avvenite, and Il Martello, a member of the Mazzini Society, and an anti-communist. He was assassinated in New York City.

Carlo Tresca (1879-1943), was an Italian-born anarchist, who emigrated to the United States in 1904. He was a labor organizer, including with the Industrial Workers of the World, a journalist, and editor, notably of Il Proletario, the official newspaper of the Italian Socialist Federation, and of Il Martello, an anti-fascist newspaper.
