Winston Estes was born on October 31, 1917, in Quanah, Texas. A career Air Force officer, Estes's first book, Winston in Wonderland, was published in 1956. His other books include Another Part of the House, A Simple Act of Kindness, Andy Jessup, and Homefront. Winston Estes died in Camden, South Carolina, on September 13, 1982.
