Letters, 1857 April 4 and 20.

Two ALS to General Anson, Commander-in-Chief in India, written on the eve of the Indian Mutiny. The letters concern issues which were about to give rise to the Mutiny, viz: the native objection to greased cartridges and the proposed postponement of target practice. He also discusses the proposal to increase Queen's troops in India, the new Treaty with Persia, etc.
